September 17, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to welcome our families back to the 2021-22 school year! The staff and I are excited to start the new school year and welcome the students back to the classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to provide a welcoming and affirming environment where we encourage our students by building on their strengths and background to develop advanced literacies and conceptual understanding through a culturally responsive sustaining education.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children achieve and strive for excellence. We recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school.

We thank you for your patience as we establish procedures for arrivals and dismissals for the beginning of a new school year. This can be a bit challenging but with your support and understanding we have been able to develop these procedures. We ask that our families be respectful of the community and park vehicles in designated areas only, please do not double park and refrain from sounding your car horn.

Next week’s arrivals will end earlier, so that we can begin instruction first thing in the morning. We ask you to arrive at the designated time for each grade. There will be no adult supervision and doors will remain closed until the designated time.  We will not be able to hold students in common areas during inclement weather due to social distancing guidelines. Please make sure that students are dressed for the weather conditions. The changes will begin on Monday, September 20th.
